Emergency Response Deficit - Sask. Power

posted by Horse Owner Today    |   June 27, 2012 13:50

Our family, like many others in Saskatchewan in the past several days is experiencing a power outage.  We understand that situations occur where we have little or no control.  However, I do have an issue with not being able to report (via telephone) the outage (when our neighbors have power).

Our next door neighbor went to pay his two power bills today, his thoughts were "I'll report out outage in person because I have not been able to via telephone"....HE WAS TOLD THAT HE COULD NOT REPORT THE OUTAGE, BUT HE SHOULD USE THE 310-2220 TELEPHONE NUMBER!  Hello Sask. Power people, we can't report outages because you are not accepting any more calls!

We understand shutting down your outage report line BUT REPLACE IT WITH A MESSAGE THAT SAYS (JUST AN EXAMPLE)  "Please listen carefully, We have multiple outages in the following towns, cities, hamlet, villages and R.M.'s.........the list........if you have an outage NOT on the list please press 1 to report it now"  followed by "If you are in distress,  have a disabilitity that requires power, special needs or other, please press 2 for immediate assistance (and be connected to EMO)
